Exponent Calculator
Calculate any base raised to any power, including negative and fractional exponents.
Working with exponents
Raising a base to a power means multiplying the base by itself that many times for positive integer exponents, but the rule generalizes: a negative exponent gives a reciprocal (e.g. 2⁻² = 1/4), and a fractional exponent gives a root (e.g. 8^(1/3) = 2). This calculator handles all of these cases directly.
