Estimating your one-rep max

Rather than risk injury testing a true single maximum lift, lifters commonly estimate their one-rep max (1RM) from a set of several reps performed with good form, using formulas like Epley and Brzycki. The result is a useful reference point for programming percentage-based training, but it becomes less accurate at very high rep counts.
